00 The role

On the case, near the truck.

Location: Helmond
Department:
Transport
Hours: 40 hours
Salary: high-skilled professional transport services, scale E

As a Truck Repair Technician, you ensure that our trucks and trailers can safely get on the road. In our workshop, you perform maintenance, servicing, and inspections. You work on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and motor systems. If something goes wrong on the road, your work doesn’t always have to be done in the garage. You get into the service van and go to the driver to solve the problem. This way, they can get back on the road as quickly as possible.

You work independently on the fleet. In addition, you also have a lot of contact with the foreman at the workshop and our drivers. You also occasionally participate in the 24-hour service. This helps ensure that our fleet remains operational and that our drivers can continue to work.

00 / Your contribution to the mix

  • Performing maintenance

You carry out maintenance, service repairs and inspections on our trucks and trailers.

  • Troubleshooting

You investigate technical problems, trace the cause, and perform repairs.

  • Technical tinkering

You work on the mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and motor systems of the fleet of vehicles.

  • Helpful drivers on the road

If there is a problem along the way, you get into the service bus and help the driver on-site with further assistance.

00 / Expectations

  1. This is how you work at Legro

At Legro we manage the entire production process in-house, giving us control over the whole supply chain from raw material to customer. Every link matters. Your work forms the foundation for the colleague who follows you, which is why you work in a small team with direct communication. Colleagues speak their minds, keep their promises and help each other when the pressure mounts.

You work in a small team in our garage in Helmond. You carry out many tasks independently. Yet you regularly coordinate with the foreman of the workshop and your fellow mechanics. The drivers also know how to reach you. They contact the garage directly if something happens to their vehicle. Sometimes you resolve the issue on-site. If help is needed on the way? You go to the driver yourself. This way you don’t just work on a truck or trailer. You also ensure that your colleague can continue their journey safely.

  2. You bring this with you
    • Technical basis: You have an MBO level of work and knowledge. A qualification as a Business Vehicle Technician or a comparable technical qualification is a plus.
    • Technical knowledge: You have knowledge of modern truck technology and experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems and related components.
    • Flexibility: You are willing to operate the accessibility services as part of the 24-hour service.
    • Driving license: You hold a B driving license. A CE driving license is a plus.
    • Curiosity: You are curious about new techniques and want to continue developing your professional knowledge.
  3. This is what you get from Legro
    • Salary: Scale according to scale E of the collective bargaining agreement for professional freight transport. Depending on knowledge and experience.
    • Free time: 24 days of annual leave and 3.5 ADV days, supplemented by any age-related leave days where applicable.
    • Travel expenses reimbursement: €0.23 per kilometer.
    • Friday lunch: On Friday, colleagues have lunch together in the canteen during ‘vette vrijdag’.
    • Vitality: Possibility to use the bike plan after one year.

00 / Over Legro

  1. Legro has been a family business for a hundred years, specialising in growing media and casing soil. Over four generations, we have grown into one of the largest producers of growing media in Europe and beyond. More than 170 colleagues work at our Dutch sites in Helmond, Asten and Cuijk. We are big enough to count on an international scale and compact enough to know each other. The communication channels are short and we tackle things together. Everyone takes responsibility for their own work and for the next link in the chain. This is how we create quality that growers worldwide can rely on.
